Breaking through the academy ranks at Sporting Lisbon, Ronaldo went on to build his name and legacy with Manchester United.
After becoming a superstar at Manchester United, Ronaldo went on to join his dream club, Real Madrid, where he continued to break records and show he was one of the best.
Ronaldo broke the record number of goals scored by a Real Madrid player, scoring a mouth-watering 451 goals during his 9-year stint at the club.
Ronaldo then made a shock move to Turin, where he played for Italian giants Juventus for 3 seasons.
Recently Ronaldo made a remarkable comeback to Manchester United, returning to the club after 19 years away, where he made his name and was a fan favourite.
At the age of 36, Ronaldo continues to dominate football and sports in general, remaining one of the biggest sporting stars in the world.
He has won the prestigious Ballon d’Or a remarkable 5 times, along with his many other trophies and achievements. He has shown how dedication and hard work can spur you on to achieve your dreams. Ronaldo has displayed the MILITAR MINDSET!
How has Ronaldo displayed the MILITAR MINDSET?
Ronaldo developed a strong MINDSET from a young age. Born in the city of Funchal on the island of Madeira, he was raised by both his parents, Maria Dolores dos Santos Viveiros da Aveiro and José Dinis Aveiro.
His mother was a cook, whilst his father was a gardener and part time kit man. Ronaldo grew up in poverty. He was the youngest of his 3 other siblings, they all lived in one room together.
However, his parents would always make sure that he was clothed and fed. Ronaldo was first introduced to football by his father, as he was a part time kit man for the local club, Andorinha.
At the age of 8, Cristiano signed for the Andorinha football academy. During his early days of playing, his teammates described him as being passionate and obsessed with winning.
Every time his team lost a game he would cry! After spending roughly 2 years at Andorinha, Ronaldo moved to another club on the island, Nacional. Ronaldo continued to learn and progress as he won more trophies with the club.
People started to realise his talent with the ball as football scouts would come and watch him play. A big factor that definitely helped in strengthening Cristiano’s mindset was his move to Sporting Lisbon at the age of 12.
The scouts of Sporting Lisbon had watched him play and decided to sign him up to the club’s academy. This was a very tough move for Cristiano as he had to leave his family, moving from his home island to the city of Lisbon.
At such a young age, Cristiano had to be mentally strong, as he knew it would be tough, but it was necessary for him to progress further to achieve his dreams.
The move proved to be vital for Cristiano as it allowed him to evolve into the player he is today. Ronaldo tells us ‘Dedication, hard work all the time, and belief.’ Teaching us the key components of his mindset that have driven him to success.
He was consistently training hard, working on bettering his overall game. Ronaldo was dedicated to becoming the best, putting in extra hours to get to where he needed to be.
Most importantly, Cristiano believed in himself. He believed he could go on to accomplish his dreams, even when others may have not, Ronaldo always did.

Looking at the journey he embarked on as a child pursuing his dreams, to accomplish what he has so far, is a remarkable achievement proving the importance of hard work and dedication.
Cristiano Ronaldo is now one of the most recognised names in Football. He is currently the most followed person on Instagram, at the time of writing he has a mind boggling 355 million followers! But it wasn’t always like this for Cristiano.
He was just like us. A normal person, but he had a dream with a strong desire to accomplish it. Cristiano may now be worth hundreds of millions, but as a child he didn’t have much money at all.
People all over the world take inspiration from Ronaldo due to the amount of success he has found. Seeing how he was dedicated to becoming the best, working effortlessly to accomplish his goals.
Many kids playing football now want to be like Ronaldo, copying his moves and skills as they dream of achieving what he has. ‘I’m living a dream I never want to wake up from.’ Ronaldo says, showing us that he is living his absolute dream life.
Everything he ever dreamed of has become a reality, but this is all ultimately due to his hard work and belief in himself. Ronaldo serves as the epitome of every footballer or anyone who wants to be successful in their chosen career.
We can be inspired by Ronaldo as he has been able to accomplish nearly everything he has wanted to achieve. When Cristiano won his first Ballon d’or in 2008, he was declared the best player in the world that year.
The Ballon d’or is a prestigious trophy that has been around for many years. It is a trophy that players dream of, as only one player is given it for the year as a result of their achievements and performances throughout the season.
From a boy who didn’t have much growing up to go on to win a Ballon d’or is truly inspirational! Fast forward a few years, Ronaldo currently has won the Ballon d’or an astonishing 5 times!
Only one player has won the Ballon d’or more times, Lionel Messi with 6! As shown in the blog header, Ronaldo states ‘We don’t want to tell our dreams. We want to show them.’ Teaching us to turn our dreams into a reality.
We all want our dreams to one day become true, but Ronaldo teaches us by showing us that we must work hard to do it.

Ronaldo is LIMITLESS when it comes to achieving his goals! Ever since he first laced up his boots as a child, he visualised being the best.
He has continued to improve and level up throughout his career. Starting off his footballing career as a youth player at Andorinha, to go on to play with clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, shows just how limitless Ronaldo is!
Cristiano’s goal from the get-go was to become the best player in the world and prove it. In order to do this, Ronaldo believed that he must display his skills and abilities in multiple leagues.
First Ronaldo proved he was one of the best at Manchester United, where he competed in the Premier League. He then went on to win the Premier League 3 times, as well as the Champions League and many other trophies including his first Ballon d’or in 2008.
After cementing his name as one of the best at Manchester United, Ronaldo secured a dream move to Real Madrid where he played in La Liga.
Winning everything he could at Manchester United, Ronaldo was determined to do it all again in Spain, proving he is able to shine above the rest wherever he plays.
Cristiano had an extremely successful stint at Real Madrid. He went on to win La Liga twice, but most notably he won the Champions League 4 times!
Ronaldo went on to become Real Madrid’s current record goal scorer with an incredible 451 goals in 438 competitive club appearances!
Ronaldo also added another 4 Ballon d’Or trophies to his collection whilst playing for Real Madrid. Cristiano then moved to Italy to play in Serie A for Juventus, where he won the Serie A twice and the Italian Super Cup once.
In 2021, Ronaldo made a sensational and unexpected retune back to Old Trafford, after 19 years away from Manchester United. Ronaldo is bound to win even more trophies as he continues to play.
In regard to his international career representing Portugal, Ronaldo most notably won the Euros in 2016. He also holds the record for the most amount of goals scored, being Portugal’s all-time leading goal scorer!
Ronaldo tells us ‘I feel endless need to LEARN, to IMPROVE, to EVOLVE, not only to please the coach and the fans, but also to feel SATISFIED with myself.’ Reinforcing just how obsessed he is with constantly improving himself.
Ronaldo wants to continue to get better and improve for the people around him, but most importantly for himself. He pushes himself to get better each day as it satisfies him to see his progression.
Cristiano is limitless on what he can achieve, hence why he has proven it time and time again wherever he plays around the world.

It was all Cristiano ever wanted to do as a child and was a dream for him to make it his livelihood. ‘Without football, my life is worth nothing.’ Ronaldo says, showing us just how much football means to him.
Growing up with very little, football has allowed Ronaldo to live a life beyond his wildest imaginations. The sport has allowed him to live a much better life where he can do anything he pleases, being financially set for life for him and his family.
Off the pitch, Ronaldo is very close to his family. He tells us ‘If we can’t help our family, who are we going to help?’ teaching us just how important it is to provide for our family.
His family have been there throughout his career, especially his parents and siblings who supported him on his journey to achieving his dreams.
Ronaldo believes it is only right to provide them with the best possible life too. He also now has children of his own who he also wants to support.
Being around them makes Ronaldo happy, allowing him to reach a state of inner-peace.
Cristiano has been able to reach his own inner-peace by pursuing his passions and surrounding himself with people that he loves and holds close to him.

Nothing happened overnight for Cristiano, everything has taken time. Ronaldo has been playing football ever since the age of 8, nearly the entirety of his life!
When Cristiano first signed for Manchester United in 2003, he was just a teenager. He became the most expensive teenager in English footballing history at the time, signing for £12.24 million.
At the time he was better known for his fancy skills, playing more so on the wing. During his time in Manchester, Ronaldo continued to evolve his game, working on all areas to improve.
Cristiano was reportedly always the first person to training, waking up early to practise ahead of his teammates and always the last to leave.
Ronaldo put in the extra work, he was obsessed with attaining his dream, being the best. It proved on the pitch as Cristiano only looked better and better.
He started to evolve as a player, scoring more goals and becoming a fan favourite. Over time Cristiano was able to evolve into a better player, becoming one of the greatest.
His time playing for Manchester United saw him change from becoming a teenager with potential into one of the best footballers in the world.
When he then moved to Real Madrid, he was already established as one of the best, but even then Ronaldo levelled up, now showing he is one of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport!
Cristiano scored 451 goals for Real Madrid in 438 competitive club appearances, breaking the all-time record for a Real Madrid player, which is truly phenomenal!
Ronaldo has previously said ‘There is no harm in dreaming of becoming the world’s best player. It is all about trying to be the best. I will keep working hard to achieve it but it is within my capabilities.’ Teaching us to always dream and believe that we can accomplish it.
For Cristiano it all started as a dream, but he believed in himself. By consistently working towards his dream, over time Ronaldo was able to finally accomplish what he set his sights on as a child.
Chasing your own dreams will not happen overnight! It all takes time with a consistent work rate. You must continue to work hard to accomplish your goals. Keep working and progressing. One day you will get there!
Ronaldo stays ACTIVE!
Ronaldo is always ACTIVE! Many people admire Ronaldo’s commitment to his craft. He is always in shape and training, even during his time off.
Ronaldo has a strict diet, only looking to consume things that can benefit him as he abstains from alcohol most of the time. This continuous work ethic is a trait Cristiano has had ever since he was a child.
Ronaldo has always been obsessed with football from a young age, he knew to become the best, he had to be continuously improving. As said before, it is known that Ronaldo is always the first to appear at training and the last to leave.
This extra work Cristiano puts in, pays dividends on the pitch when it all matters. Cristiano reportedly aims to train physically around 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.
This allows Ronaldo to get in the necessary work he needs to prepare for his upcoming games. Rest is also very important to Cristiano, as football can be a gruelling game on the body, he must make sure he recovers well to perform at his best.
In a season Ronaldo will play 38 games if injury free and selected to play in the Premier League. This is not including other tournaments such as the Champions League and the FA cup.
These tournaments depend on the success clubs have in the games they play, which determine how many extra games they will play.
Ronaldo must be prepared to play around 40 plus games a season, which is not easy, so he must make sure that he trains and rests correctly.
Ronaldo tells us ‘I think I have improved from last year. I am always trying to improve my game and improve myself.’ Showing us that he aims to improve himself each year he plays.
This is both on the pitch and off the pitch. As Ronaldo continues to work, he learns more and embeds this into his life, improving each day.
Off the pitch Ronaldo has many other business ventures such as his fragrances and clothing. Cristiano is active each day, as he knows he can always improve and reach for more goals.
Being active is vital when chasing your own dreams. Each day you should take a step closer to your goals, big or small. At the end of each day, think. How have I progressed towards my goals today?
Ronaldo is just RELENTLESS!
RELENTLESS is one way to describe Ronaldo! ‘I’ve never tried to hide the fact that it is my intention to become the best.’
Ever since he played his first game as an 8-year-old for Andorinha, his dream was always to be the best. Ronaldo set his sights and ambitions high, working relentlessly to accomplish them.
Step by step, Cristiano was able to reach that goal and exceed all expectations. Moving from his island to mainland Portugal in Lisbon, Ronaldo continued to progress up the ranks in Sporting Lisbon.
However, Ronaldo faced a major setback when he was 15. He was diagnosed with a heart condition known as the ‘racing heart’. It meant that his heart was beating faster than it should even when resting.
This could have ended Ronaldo’s career before it even begun, but he was determined to go and achieve his dreams. Fortunately, Ronaldo was able to get an operation which fixed his condition.
Just days later, Cristiano was back in training and moving further up the ranks at Sporting Lisbon. Though Ronaldo faced many setbacks and problems, he never let it get to him.
Cristiano always found a way to overcome his problems and kept pushing himself to achieve his goals. Ronaldo states ‘I want to be remembered as part of the group of the greatest players ever.’ This shows just how ambitious Ronaldo is.
Now he is currently one of the best players on the planet, but he aims even higher as he wants to be one of the greatest players of all time!
Many already regard Ronaldo in this list, looking at his accolades and achievements. But Ronaldo will continue to play to the best of his abilities till he hangs up his boots.
Ronaldo is relentless in his pursuit of greatness. He doesn’t let anyone tell him he can’t accomplish his dreams. Cristiano always believes in himself, working relentlessly till he gets to the top.
To stay there, Ronaldo continues to work hard! Be relentless on your own journey to greatness. Fulfilling your dreams is no easy route. It will be tough with many obstacles to overcome, but be relentless and keep pushing. One day you will get achieve what you desire!
