The Militar Self Collection: A Deeper Look

The Militar Self Collection is our second clothing collection, following the Militar Classic Collection.

For this collection we zoomed in on our motto ‘Be Yourself. Visualise Your Dreams. Achieve Them.’ In particular, the ‘Be Yourself’ part of it.

As always, we made sure there was a deeper message embedded within the design of the Militar Self Collection that would provide you with the motivation and inspiration to continue to push towards finding your own purpose, achieving your own goals. 

So, let’s get into it!

The thought process behind the Militar Self Collection

We wanted to give this collection a more minimalistic look. We wanted the meaning to be revealed only to the person wearing the garments. From the outside, to anyone not wearing them, they look plain, to the wearer they have a special message.

The first key element of the Militar Self Collection design lies within the print on the inner side of the garment saying, ‘Be Yourself’. 

We purposefully placed prints on the inner sides of the pieces, rather than the much more conventional and standard way of printing on the outer sides of garments, where it was meant to be visible and distinguishable to everyone. 

This was not the goal for the Militar Self Collection. No one is meant to see the print, but you. The reason we placed the print in this unconventional way is because the phrase ‘Be Yourself’, is meant to be a personal reminder for you.

It is placed in a discrete location, clearer for you to see, hidden from the casual glances of other people, as it acts as a reminder throughout your day to always stay true to yourself, no matter the hardships you may face. 

The reason the ‘Be Yourself’ phrase is important to us, is because it is the first step you need to take when you want to accomplish your dreams and goals. You must first know yourself before you can go on this journey to attain your goals so that you truly know what it is that you desire.

Without knowing what you want and who you are, your goals won’t be attainable, as you will not be fully certain of what they are.

The first step on your journey towards your goals is to ‘Be Yourself’.

This meaning is further portrayed within the logo construction. To stick with the minimalistic theme, we made the logo much smaller on all garments compared to the  the Militar Classic Collection.

Where that collection was more about being bold and strength and unity, the Militar Self Collection is more about you and your own individual journey.

All pieces from the collection have the full Militar logo embroidered into the garment. The first point to focus on here is that there is just one logo.

For the Militar Classic Collection, there was one full logo, but numerous inclusions of the icons from the logo that formed our unique repeated pattern, therefore a lot of references to the  logo in the overall design. 

For the Militar Self Collection, we simply added just one logo, no other references to the Militar logo.

We intentionally did this because the one logo is meant to resemble just one thing. You. We removed all other distractions so that  the only visible thing on the outside of this design, is the Militar embroidered logo. 

The purpose behind it is to remind you to focus on yourself, removing any other distractions that you may face. By focusing on yourself, you can find your true self and know what you truly want to accomplish and do. 

The use of embroidery was also deliberately done, as when something is embroidered, it is directly sewn into the garment, it can’t be removed (at ease) or taken out, it is a part of it. 

This reflects the phrase ‘Be Yourself’ and how you can only ‘Be Yourself’. You can’t be someone else you are who you are.

The use of embroidery symbolises this, it is woven into the fabric, who you are is woven into the fabric of you and you cannot remove it.  

Finally, the name, the Militar Self Collection. As you may have seen throughout this post so far, the collection is all about you!

The focus is primary on you being your best self and knowing who you are. Hence why we decided to call the collection after what it is based on ‘Self’, which means you.

A look at the Militar Self Collection

We will now take a quick look at some of the items that form the Militar Self Collection.

All garments were designed to be multi-purpose with a style suited to the streets, training or whatever you aim to do!

As you now know the meaning of the Militar Self Collection, just make sure that you are working on becoming the best version of you as you work towards your personal goals.

The Militar Self Hoodie

The Militar Self Hoodie is compiled with both comfortable and flexible materials, suited for you to do whatever you need to do in your day. 

Whether out and about or training, the Militar Self Hoodie is great for living your purpose, as it was designed with a purpose embedded into it.

The Militar Self Hoodie has the iconic words ‘Be Yourself’ printed on the inner side of the left arm in white on the black hoodie and in black on the grey hoodie.

The hoodie is finished off with the Militar logo embroidered on the upper centre chest (in white on the black hoodie, in black on the grey hoodie). 

The Militar Self Hoodie is a relaxed fit and is true to size.

The Militar Self Joggers

The Militar Self Joggers are made up of the same materials as the Militar Self Hoodie, making them both the perfect match together!

The joggers provide you with great comfortability and mobility as you go about your day, striving to become your best self.

The phrase ‘Be Yourself’ is printed on the inner side of the left leg of the joggers in white on the black joggers and in black on the grey joggers.

The Militar logo is them embroidered on the left side of the joggers (in white on the black joggers, in black on the grey joggers).

The Militar Self Joggers are a relaxed fit and are true to size.

The Militar Self T-Shirt

The Militar Self T-Shirt is made up of 100% cotton, giving you quality comfort as you progress forward in your day.

The Militar Self T-Shirt perfectly fits with other items such as joggers and shorts as you work towards becoming the best version of you.

On the inner side of the left sleeve, the iconic phrase ‘Be Yourself’ is printed in black on the white t-shirt and in white on the black t-shirt.

The final touch is the Militar logo, which is embroidered on the upper chest, in the centre (in white on the black t-shirt, in black on the white t-shirt).

The Militar Self T- Shirt is a relaxed fit and is true to size.

The Militar Self Shorts

The Militar Self Shorts are made up of the same material as the Militar Self Hoodie and joggers.

The Militar Self Shorts provide you with quality and ease of movement whilst you aim to become your best self.

The phrase ‘Be Yourself’ is printed on the side of the left leg of the shorts in white on the black joggers and in black on the grey joggers.

On the left side of the shorts, the Militar logo is embroidered (in white on the black shorts, in black on the grey shorts).

The Militar Self Shorts are a relaxed fit and are true to size.

Overall, they are all the key parts of the Militar Self Collection!
