The Militar Seven Collection: A Deeper Look

The Militar Seven Collection is our seventh collection.

The seven collection is based on the concept behind the number 7. The number 7 is often considered a “lucky number,” but at Militar we believe luck is something you actively create rather than relying on chance. True luck is something you cultivate through dedication, relentless effort, and the willingness to embrace every opportunity that comes your way.

There is a deeper meaning behind the Militar Seven Collection, as with all collections we create. The aim is always to inspire and motivate you towards your own goals when we create these collections, so let’s take a deeper look into the Seven Collection!

The Thought Process Behind the Militar Seven Collection

The idea behind the Seven Collection came from a trip I went on to Umrah, which is where Muslims go to visit the holy cities Makkah and Madinah. On this trip the number seven kept reoccurring. We would have to walk around the Kaaba 7 times, walk 7 times between two points Safa and Marwah, to complete the Umrah.

It got me thinking more deeply about the number seven, what it means and what it represents. There are seven days in the week, seven continents, seven seas and seven letters in Militar! The number seven constantly comes up. In the instances I mentioned above, seven can represent completeness and balance.

The Design of the Militar Seven Collection

The design of the Seven Collection was inspired by my trip, as the pattern is based on the motifs of Islamic architecture, in particular, patterns that are displayed within the 2 holy mosques. With the secondary colour, we built up small sevens placed throughout the design, meaning the design is actually built up of number sevens!

The Seven Collection is our biggest collection to date, with 4 colourways for the first drop of the collection. This design really pops out, so we wanted to use vibrant colours to further enhance the design. The black/gold and white/green colourways were inspired by my trip, using the colours of the holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah. The other 2 colourways red/white and blue/gold were chosen based on feedback we’ve had from our lovely customers! Blue and red colourways have always been best sellers for us. Aswell as the red/white colourway depicting the colours of England, the home and birthplace of Militar!

The Collection Reminds us Not to Wait for Luck

The main reason I wanted to focus on the number 7, was because it is perceived to be a ‘lucky number’. A lot of the time, we can make assumptions on the success people or businesses may have, declaring it as ‘luck’. Even if there is an element of luck or good fortune involved, luck comes from hard work that has been put in, to create those opportunities. When it comes to seeing success, we always see the good and the peaks, never the bad and the struggles endured behind the scenes. As the famous Roman Philosopher Seneca once said, ‘luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity’. So, with seven being associated with luck and good fortune, we wanted to make the message behind the Seven Collection to symbolize more than just luck. It stands for the hard work, dedication, and persistence that creates real success. While some fortune may come your way, it’s the preparation, effort, and readiness to seize opportunities that truly drive achievement. Each piece in this collection is a reminder that success comes to those who make it happen, not just to those who wait for luck.

The Symbology of The Number Seven

The number seven also embodies the idea of completeness and balance, reflecting the symbolic meaning of the number seven across cultures. In many traditions, seven represents wholeness, like the seven days of creation or the natural cycles in life. It captures the idea that success is not just about one element but the balance of dedication, preparation, and timing coming together as a complete path to achievement.

Bringing this thought process to your day-to-day life tasks can be highly beneficial to you as you work towards your goals. Once you acknowledge that luck and opportunities come from the work you put in, you are more likely to work for it. Instead of waiting for that ‘lucky moment’ or good fortune to reach you, you will create your own luck. You will be focussed on accomplishing your goals and dedicated to putting your maximum effort into it. When an opportunity arises, you will be prepared and well equipped to capitalise on it. Your luck will be a result of your hard work and preparation as you seize the opportunities you create.

This process doesn’t just happen overnight, opportunities don’t come like that, it is a result of consistent work and dedication.

How the MILITAR Mindset Views Luck

The ‘MILITAR MINDSET’ shares the same message. We don’t wait for luck to present itself, we work hard and create those moments. All the values of the ‘MILITAR MINDSET’, inspire, limitless, inner-peace, time, active and relentless, are all about taking action now, staying consistent and working relentlessly till you achieve your goals.

Even when it comes to being a part of a team or for community-based goals, when you start to create your own opportunities and seize them, you can achieve much more than you would be, waiting for that ‘lucky’ moment to come.

The Seven Collection Promo Video

In the promo video we shot for the Seven Collection, we played around with doing different sequences in sevens. For example, seven shots thrown on the pads. But we also wanted to show the hard work and dedication that is required to reach your goals, so the video is very high paced with an intense workout, showing that nothing great comes easy.

Finally, to finish off the design, a large logo was placed onto the chest. We decided to use a bigger logo for this collection on the t-shirt because the design was vibrant and bold, it stood out, so it made sense to use a bigger logo.

The name ’Seven Collection’ sums up this collection. It is literally our seventh collection! But with the message behind the Seven Collection, we look deeper into what the number seven reflects and means. Though the number seven can reflect ‘luck’ we wanted to show that luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. Luck comes from the hard work and dedication you put in. You create your own opportunities. You create your own luck.

The Militar Seven T- Shirt is made using both comfortable and flexible materials (100% polyester), perfect for you to train in.

We have four colourways currently for the Seven Collection:

• Black/gold
• Green/white
• Blue/gold
• Red/white

As stated before, the black/gold and white/green colourways were inspired from my trip, I used the colours from the 2 holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah.

The blue and red colourways were chosen because of the popularity these colours have with our audience. Everyone likes the colours blue or red!

We wanted this collection to stand out, hence why we went with vibrant colours, the number seven is meant to be a ‘lucky number’ so we wanted this collection to really stick out!

These t-shirts are perfect for combat sports training, as worn by our athletes and also perfect for everyday gym use.

Militar Seven Hybrid MMA Shorts

The Militar Seven Hybrid MMA Shorts are made using lightweight polyester materials. This makes the shorts perfect to train in but also to fight in, they are so light, you barely feel them when you’re wearing them!

This is actually our first pair of standard MMA shorts. These shorts feature a small slit on the sides. The waistband features the Militar logo on the front, as well as including laces for you to further adjust the fit of the shorts whilst training or fighting.

Militar Seven High Split MMA Shorts

The Militar Seven High Split MMA Shorts are made using lightweight polyester materials. These shorts are ideal for both training and fighting due to their ultra-lightweight material. You’ll hardly notice you’re wearing them!

The shorts are high split shorts, meaning they have a high slit, which goes up to about ¾ of the shorts length. These are our number one bestsellers to date! The high slits allow for maximum flexibility and movement.
